I'll always be there. Watching. Waiting.
Angora Goats
Angora goats produce mohair. They are one of the very few goat breeds ever used for fiber production, and their hair has the same chemical composition as sheep’s wool. However, the fine scale and luster of each strand means that it cannot be felted or used for other low-grade applications.
Angoras are fairly delicate animals, and are susceptible to internal parasites and harsh weather, especially when young. Unlike most goats, they twin less than 15% of the time, so herd growth can be seen as slow. On the plus side, they’re great browsers (they prefer to eat shrubs and leaves over the ground foliage) and can be kept with grazers quite easily. They’re also generally personable animals.
